Can he see a Pelican-Wellhecan.
30th May 2016
Third attempt to catch up with the Dalmatian Pelican down in West Cornwall.
It had been roosting at Drift reservoir so I was down there at first light, where a few birders from far and wide were also on the scene. The Pelican was easily located in the N.W. arm ( you couldn't miss it- its huge) where it spent the next couple of hours sleeping and preening on a tree stump in the water, eventually it did go for a swim around and caught some small fish before returning to its perch, didn't see it in flight. Magnificent bird ,but not that likely to be admitted to the official British list.

A few from my place
A few photographs taken in my field and pond last week, I found the Broad Bodied Chaser one evening , where I thought it would spend the night , and went back early next morning hoping it would be covered in Dew and luckily it was.

Can he see a Pelican ,like hellican
12th May.
Drove down to Lands End to try for the Dalmation Pelican( which if accepted by the powers that be would be a first for Britain) only to find he whole area fogbound, and although the bird was seen briefly mid morning it was not relocated, so no joy ,and to rub salt into the wound its been seen well every day since. Never mind I did manage to see the male Serin in the horse paddock, I've seen plenty abroad but this was my first in this country, I always knew I'd catch up with one some day. Maybe I'll try again for the Pelican, ( I doubt its wild anyway)

Davidstow
21st April
First visit to Davidstow for a while, a few bits and pieces around, a small flock of twelve Ringed Plover, three Skylark, a pair of Stock Dove and lots of Wheatears, all just arrived I imagine, one or two came very close to my parked car allowing for some nice photos.
